NIHR

Accessibility Policy

At the NIHR Global Health Research Centre for Multiple Long-Term Conditions, we are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, regardless of ability, technology, or environment. Our goal is to provide a digital experience that is inclusive, equitable, and usable by the widest possible audience.

Our accessibility efforts focus on:

  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content
  • Ensuring content is structured for easy navigation using assistive technologies
  • Maintaining sufficient colour contrast
  • Using clear, readable fonts and consistent layouts
  • Ensuring forms, menus, and controls are operable with a keyboard
  • Supporting screen readers and alternative input devices

Current Accessibility Features

We have implemented the following features to improve accessibility:

  • Alt text for all meaningful images
  • Logical heading structure across all pages
  • High-contrast text and background combinations
  • Responsive design to support various screen sizes and devices
  • Clear link text and descriptive button labels
  • Accessible PDFs and downloadable resources (where possible)
  • Captioning or transcripts for multimedia content

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. We regularly review our website and content to identify and address accessibility issues. If you encounter any accessibility barriers on our website or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us at nihrcentreformltc@phfi.org
